Location
Caviahue Ski Centre is located only 1.5 km far from the town.
From Neuquén City, you can get to Caviahue by land through National Road 22 and Provincial Roads 21 and 26, all of them fully paved.
By air, you can arrive in it taking regular flights through Juan Domingo Peron Airport in Neuquén City. Form then on, you continue your journey on long distance buses.
From Chile, you can get to Caviahue by crossing the International Border through “Pino Hachado”, and then driving 179 km along National Road 22 and Provincial Road 21. |

Low: from 14th June to 27th June and from 20th September to 30th September.
Mid: from 28th June to 4th July, from 9th August to 15th August, and from 19th August to 19th September.
High: form 5th July to 8th August, and from 16th August to 18th August. |

Activities
Downhill, cross-country and telemark skiing, snowboarding, snowshoe hiking, snowmobile riding and dog-pulled sled touring. The snowmobile, prepared for excursions on snow and rides to Copahue volcano for the practice of freestyle skiing, is a special attraction in Caviahue. |

Lifts and Runs
In Caviahue Ski Centre, the runs are served by 9 lifts comprising 3 chairlifts, 3 surface lifts, 1 quadruple chairlift, 1 school poma lift and 1 double surface lift (T-Bar), with a total lifting capacity of 7,400 skiers per hour.
The Ski Centre has 13 main runs, perfectly marked, for all skiing levels. For off-piste enthusiasts, Caviahue offers 6 challenging runs as well.

Ski and Snowboard School
In Caviahue Ski Centre, besides the classic downhill skiing, you can learn, among other modalities, cross-country skiing. The ski school offers individual and group lessons during the whole skiing season. Experienced instructors teach the fundamentals of this sport, or how to improve your style and enhance your technique.

Equipment Rental Shop
The Ski Rental Shop, located at the base of the Ski Centre, offers large facilities and fast service, from 9am to 6pm.The “Equipment Renta Shop” includes boot driers and attended ski lockers.
The repairs shop, assisted by qualified staff, operates in the Ski Centre from 9am to 5pm. The Ski Rental Store, located at the base area, offers top of the range carving skis, four-buckle ski boots, cross-country skies, snowboards and touring snowshoes. |

Services
Caviahue offers hotels, cabins and apart hotels, which provide excellent service and a total capacity to accommodate 504 guests. Hotel rooms are well-equipped and coffe-shops and restaurants offer Patagonian cooking specialties and international dishes. Las Lengas coffee-shop, located at the resort base area, invites people to taste Patagonian high cuisine dishes and witness shows every night.
In the mountain, Pehuén coffee-shop offers hot chocolate and cakes, in addition to an unbeatable view of the surrounding landscape.
As far as safety and run maintenance are concerned, the Ski Centre has a trained team of ski rescue patrollers and 3 snow cat grooming machines used to keep the skiing area in excellent conditions.

CAVIAHUE SKI CENTRE

‘08 Season
New lift
We created the first black run, for advanced skiers only. It lies near the crater of Copahue volcano, and you get to it by the Agrio ski lift, at a height of 1,100 mts.
Excursion Office
Caviahue Ski Centre opens this season, at its base, the exclusive Excursion Department, which will be the selling place of the tickets for all the activities done in the Ski Centre, including rides on caterpillar tractors or snow cat grooming machines, night tours to mountain refuges, skiing or snowshoe hiking to cascades, lakes, frozen lagoons, etc.
Fashion and Snow Fashion Show / Opening Party
Saturday 28th June in the Convention Centre
Some photographic productions will be carried out on the snow during the day, with famous models, in the most important spots of the Ski Centre. The event ends with an Electronic Party in the Conventions Centre.
Extreme Rugby Cup
Sunday 29th June at the base of the Ski Centre
This is the first and only Seven a Side National Circuit on the snow, carried out since 2005. It is played in the heights, with temperatures that reach 10ºC below zero, and with a good share of adrenaline and courage. The teams are constituted by 7 men, who play two seven-minute times by the rules of the traditional Seven of Rugby, but on a field covered with snow and surrounded by the amazing landscape of the Cordillera, with its majestic mountains as the natural background.
King’s Game Snow Polo Cup
8th and 9th August 2008 at the base of the Ski Centre
This tournament will be carried out for the 6th consecutive year. It is organized by “Polo”, the pioneer brand in the manufacture of polo clothing. Three games of four chukkers each will be played, and the teams will be constituted by professional players, and special guests. The King’s Game Snow Polo Cup ends with a cocktail, which will gather the players, different celebrities, fashion models and the general public.
And on Fridays, the traditional Torch Descent, which ends at the base of the Ski Centre, where participants can drink hot chocolate and hot wine.
